APP 5: Oral History Interview or Personal Document Collection
- For your final APP, choose ONE of the projects below.
- Email Dr. Marshall your findings before the beginning of our next class. Please read about email etiquette.
Oral History Interview
Conduct an oral history interview with a parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle about his or her family. Choose at least 10 questions from this list. Write a 300-word summary of the interview. Should you use this in your Ancestry Project, it might be helpful for you to video or record the interview.
Personal Document Collection
Research the history of a significant item in a family member's home or that has a prominent place in your family's genealogy e.g., passport, wedding photo, piece of furniture. In 300 words or fewer, describe the source, explain its connection to your family, and then analyze the significance of the source as evidence for an important historic event. Include a picture of the document in your response.
